Annual Band Food Drive
2022 Band 'Gift Card' Drive
Hey Band!
Every year our MIHS Band collects food to support the Food donation program at Mercer Island Youth and Family Services. We do this as a way to say 'thank you' to our Mercer Island community who consistently supports our Band programs.
This year the MIHS band spent Saturday May 14th at the North and South end QFC markets making music and collecting donations. Led by Jaya Woerner and the Band Student Leadership team, the band collected just under $7,000 to give to the MIYFS Food Assistance Program to help MI families that need it most.
If you missed this day and might still wish to donate, MIYFS still desperately needs the support. Please consider donating.
Thank you (again) to our MIHS students and families for supporting SUCH an important part of our MI community.

What is the Annual Band Food Drive?
Our annual Band Food Drive is fast approaching and we are excited to have this opportunity to give back to our ever supportive community by collecting food for Northwest Harvest and Mercer Island Youth and Family Services. Our band students will drop off flyers on the doorknobs of all of our Mercer Island homes. The next day, the students will collect donations of non-perishable food and common household items.
Parents, we will need YOU to drive our students around the island. We will post a volunteer signup when the time gets closer.
